Paragraphes

BUS

Most of the network's buses are accessible to People with Reduced Mobility and some have a retractable pallet and low floor. Each vehicle has a space reserved for people in wheelchairs and seats reserved for people with reduced mobility. Nearly 800 stops in Nice have been fitted out by the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis to provide greater accessibility for people with reduced mobility. The platforms have been specially widened to 3.50 m and raised to 21 cm to facilitate access to the bus. Pedometer strips and floor markings indicate the boarding and alighting areas for the visually impaired and people with reduced mobility. On the bus and tram timetables, a PRM pictogram indicates stops that are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

TRAM

Equipped with an integral low floor located at the same level as the station platform, the tram is fully accessible and guarantees access to the train without having to climb any steps. This direct access is further enhanced by extra-wide doors marked with the pictogram.

The station's facilities have also been designed with your safety in mind: spacious platforms, gently sloping platform access ramps, adapted lighting, lowered ticket machines, illuminated scrolling strips and podotactile strips. Braille signs indicate the name of the station and the direction of the line. It is positioned just above the screen of each of the automatic ticket machines installed on the platforms of the tramway line stations. Inside the trams, the stations are announced by sonals (sound announcements made by the artist Michel Redolfi) and on information screens.

All trams (33 and 44 meters long) comply with current accessibility standards:

TFT information screens announcing the next stop instead of scrolling banners
  • Button on the access doors (repositioned according to the new height standards)
  • PRM call button inside the train
  • Larger side and front weathervanes
  • Intercom system
  • Reserved spaces for PRM and priority persons
  • Visible identification of the 44 metre trains by a yellow adhesive on the front

An accessible website is one that allows all Internet users to access its content without difficulty, including people with disabilities who use specialized software or hardware.
An accessible site allows for example to:

  • Navigate with voice synthesizers or Braille displays (particularly used by blind or visually impaired Internet users).
  • Customize the display of the site according to your needs (enlarging characters, changing colors, etc.).
  • Navigate without using the mouse, with the keyboard only or via a touch screen.
  • And so on.

The route calculator compares the environmental impact of the proposed trip with that of the same trip made by car. The calculation of CO2 production is based on the distances traveled by each mode and the average carbon production coefficients per mode of transport GeqCO2/passenger.km

GeqCO2: gram of CO2 equivalent

Coefficients used per mode of transport

  • Car: 86.9 kg CO2 eq.
  • Tramway: 1.2 kg CO2 eq.
  • Subway: 1.42 kg CO2 eq.
  • Train: 3.87 kg CO2 eq.
  • TER: 3.87 kg CO2 eq.
  • TGV : 55.9 kg CO2 eq.
  • Bus : 55.9 kg CO2 eq.
  • Coach : 25.16 kg CO2 eq.
The coefficients for cars, buses, streetcars and metros are based on work carried out by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME), in consultation with representatives of French public transport operators. These coefficients are used in particular by the ADEME eco-calculator. As ADEME's work has not defined a reference coefficient for the Bus mode, Cityway proposes to use the same coefficient as for the Bus. The TER and TGV train coefficients are those established by the SNCF, which uses these coefficients for its eco-comparator.  The coefficients used are only averages: recent cars pollute less than older cars, it is the same for buses, coaches or trains... The carbon ratio should therefore only be considered as an indication of the order of magnitude of the carbon savings made by using public transport - bearing in mind that significantly different results could be obtained for the same journey depending on the calculation assumptions used. The public transport (PT) distances are calculated as close as possible to the actual route by adding the distances of each of the stop-to-stop sections. The distances for private cars are calculated from the road graph. See the  website. S.N.C.F. website:

Find below some tips on how to use the site's route planner as efficiently as possible. Particularly interactive, the latter allows you at any time to :
  • change the search criteria
  • view the alternative routes
  • modify your departure and arrival points on the map and immediately obtain a new result

Departure and arrival

To indicate the place of departure and arrival you can use the input fields or click directly on the interactive map. Specify the desired date and time for your trip.

If you are registered in the member's area, you can use your favorite places to indicate your departure or arrival place: go to the page My account.

For the same entry, the database can propose stops, addresses and points of interest (categorized places).

Indicate your preferences

By default, the "fastest" route is proposed. However, you can run a recalculation in "fewer changes" mode, which in some cases can simplify the trip by only slightly increasing the total time.

The site looks for public transport solutions corresponding to the search criteria entered (such as departure time or with the least number of changes). You can modify the walking parameters, by clicking on the "..." button and then "Route options" such as the maximum distance desired in the route or the estimated speed.

Consult the results

Each route proposal appears as a button including :

  • the modes and lines of transportation to be used,
  • the number of changes,
  • the walking time,
  • the duration of the trip
  • departure and arrival times.

Clicking on the button, you will unroll its content: a roadmap, a map and various useful features (printing, downloading P.D.F., adding to the agenda, sharing on social networks...) grouped in the "..." button.

To search for the schedules of a line

  • In the "Schedules" tab on the home page, enter the name or number of the line you are looking for
  • You can also go to the Schedules page which lists all the lines in the network.

Among the lines proposed, select the line that corresponds to your search and the line's timetable will be displayed. This is a timetable that is automatically formatted and uses the same database as the route planner.
Select the direction ("To" button), the date (which by default is the current day) and the time you want. The timetables are then updated. Move with the arrows to go to the next, previous, first or last schedule of the day.

To access only the timetable of the stop you are interested in, click on the stop in the list.

The line timetable allows you to access the functions described below:

  • Download / Print the timetable
  • Share the timetable on social networks
  • Report a problem (which gives access to the contact form)
  • Add the line to your favorites
  • Consult the current traffic information on the line

To directly access the schedules of a stop, enter the name of a stop in the corresponding field on the home page (Schedule tab) or on the Schedule page.

Select the desired stop from the list. If several lines serve the requested stop, select the line of your choice to access the timetable of the desired stop.

After selecting the line, the timetable of the line's passages at this stop is displayed. From this page you can :

  • consult the current traffic information on the line
  • consult the next departures at the stop
  • specify the direction you are interested in
  • specify the date you are interested in
  • access the schedules of other lines passing by the stop
  • access the timetable and map of the line
  • print the timetable
  • download the PDF version of the timetable
  • report a problem
  • search for a route to or from the stop
  • add the stop to your favorites
  • share on social networks or by e-mail
